So I’m working and then there are times I have to play Mr. Mom and run the kids around to various sporting activities. Non-stop between Soccer, Indoor Soccer, Baseball Winter Training, and Basketball Games….so I’m pretty much on the road or in a gym most evenings until I get home and get to work again. The pass thru device from Bloog has been a blessing. I ordered one recently, will take a picture of it soon. Its basically a hard wired way to vape that you can plug into a computer or the car charger and keep vaping without losing a charge. LOVE IT! So simple and if I get behind on charging at all, I am good to go instantly as long as I have some USB port somewhere. Keeping it short today. PEACE!
Man…Monday’s are just brutal…actually Monday’s now seem to start on Sunday evening…not sure who came up with the bright idea of the Sunday evening work dump so you know you are already behind on Sunday night for Monday’s work day. Ever get the email, oh by the way….followed by an over simplified request for a report or special project that’s supposed to take minutes, but ends up taking hours or days out of your already full schedule…love it, love it…I think this type of crap is why I had a hard time trying to quit smoking for so long at the end. Seriously, does anybody not work on Sunday night to get ahead for Monday…I know I do, but I don’t expect anyone to jump up and salute me on Sunday. Then I roll into Monday after a late night of work and I’m already tired…coffee and my Bloog e-cig now jumpstart my day….thank goodness for small pleasures…I miss they days when the boss had to call to request extra work on a Sunday and you could pretend you weren’t home or your cell phone was off…conveniently….PEACE!
Used to be, Sunday consisted of Church, some yard work or home improvement project and a pack of cigarettes. Well now I try to work in refilling my cartomizers and making sure my batteries are recharged on my e-cigs. What I love about these things is that no matter where I am I can recharge them. In the car, in the house, at the computer, even in my pocket with the Personal Charging Case (PCC). But Sunday I like to make sure all of my batteries are good to go for the week so I don’t have an weak charges…learned that early when I stretched a battery too far and I was taking a drag on my e-cig and the LED tip started flashing…almost cried…literally, but will power and a USB charge saved the day. Now they have this Bloog Pass-Thru device where you can plug into your computer or other USB device and it is tethered to that charge and you don’t miss a beat. So I keep that nearby when I am watching TV or something to make sure I don’t waste a battery needlessly.
Also Sundays are a great day to refill your cartomizer with Juice…E-juice that is, not orange, apple or grape juice…god forbid. It is nicotine infused juice that you can put into your cartomizer to save on ordering cartomizers. These juices come in 30ml bottles and they last a pretty long time. So very handy to have if you want to reuse a cartomizer or order blank cartomizers and like refilling them. I’ll do a follow up on Juices soon, but Sunday’s especially when there is not football really work for me! Can’t wait for the Super Bowl…PEACE!
I generally don’t butt (forgive the pun) into people’s lives too much, unless I really care about them. So I was taking my son to his baseball team’s Winter workout at their training facility and as I am pulling up I see one of the coaches having a smoke outside in the parking lot. So I say to my son, is that Vic smoking? My son responds, didn’t you know? And I’m like yeah, but I have never seen him smoking out in front when you kids arrive….sort of sends a bad message (not that I have been an angel)…Wow talk about the pot calling the kettle black right? Anyway, I get out of the car and I start talking to Vic, he’s and older guy and I tell him how I am trying to quit and using these electronic cigarettes. And he’s like do they really work. So I tell him yes they do and how they work. He tells me it’s his only vice, but that the doctor was surprised that he was up to almost two packs a day…yikes, he’s worse than me. Anyway I promised to get him a starter kit like mine to try and I’ll give it to him and see how he does. I felt bad, but the guy is so good to my son, I’d hate to see him get cancer…when I know there is something better…I’ll try not to be so preachy next time. Funny, I always heard that ex-smokers are the least tolerant of smokers…boy I guess they are right…but hoping I helped Vic…crossing fingers. Peace!
Whew, crazy day today, busy day at work starting at 5am…holy crap I must be insane, then right over to coach my daughters travel soccer team…rough one to watch, then off to my son’s basketball game (not coaching thank goodness) and another rough one to watch…finally got home about 9:30 (not terribly late, but late enough without dinner). So I needed a treat, normally that used to mean a cigarette or two, but lately it’s just my bloog e-cig. It really has been a blessing. Plus when I am out and kids see me, I can say that I am using this to try and quit and I don’t look like I am a coach who endorses smoking…trying to be a better influence one day at a time. Peace!
Yesterday marked the 3 week mark and I’m getting more and more will power, but I have to admit that the e-cigs are the key to my success so far…still gotta work on cutting down on the nicotine part of the equation, but it is so nice to not hear my kids complain about my smoke and the car being cold because I have the windows open. When I cleaned the car I could not believe how much tar and residue was on the paper towels…thinking about how much damage I did to my kids and their lungs. But, hopefully, I can make up for it now. Gotta stay strong and get through this month and then set the goal for the year. Peace!
I’m not easily swayed by a product…and I have tried to quit smoking before, but this has been amazing…at first I was having trouble getting used to charging my e-cigs, but I finally have gotten into a rhythm with this thing and have the work and home e-cigs so I am able to always have a charge. Plus the PCC case is really nice when I am out and about, and then I can charge in the car too. So not a bad system. In the past when I tried to go cold turkey, I had problems with cold sores or started eating like crazy to substitute. Right now I am feeling better, the old smoker cough is dissipating and I am still able to stay on exercise routine without defeating it tempting snacks in between…my wife is thrilled! So far best present ever! Peace!
I have to admit, I have a weakness for sushi…not everyone’s taste, but I love it! So normally after lunch I used to have a cigarette, but now it’s my e-cigarette. Anyway…getting to the point…so I am out with a client for lunch and she loves sushi too. So after enjoying a wonderful lunch we’re walking out and I grab my e-cigarette and start to take a few puffs. And she turns to me, and says and I quote, “That looks like fun…” so I go do you smoke? And she doesn’t but still said it looked really cool (which I loved). So I told her that the nicotine may bother her, but gave her a fresh cartomizer to try (gotta get some mouth pieces so I can share). Anyway she tries it and says that is really cool…so I tell her that you can get the cartomizers in 0mg of nicotine so you can just appear to be smoking when you really are not for the look…again comment from her “COOL!” Followed by a smile. So I may have created a monster, but now I know E-cigs and sushi go perfect together….PEACE!
Okay so it’s Monday and I was low on my cartomizers…sort of like filters on a regular cigarette. But with my e-cigs they provide the nicotine and produce the vapor. Still working on the cutting down on the nicotine part, but that will come with time. Anyway my cartomizer was running a bit dry…and it was not producing a lot of vapor so I went online and watched this video about how to refill the cartomizer…not super polished video, but it tells the story pretty simply, so it helps….anyway I may either take some raw video my self or some pics soon to show everyone in a quicker format. But the juice works…I got my nicotine and was vaping in no time flat…hoorray!
Man making resolutions is tough…no wonder I stink at them so much…started the day with a jog…yes a jog, haven’t mentioned it too much…but I am trying to get healthy…although Friday was a setback on the food and drink end of it, but hoping that running will help to work off some of it. Now normally on a Sunday when playoff football is on I am headed to the local watering hole for some mouthwatering buffalo wings…this place has about 20 varieties of wing flavors…my son loves the Chesapeake…can’t argue…they are awesome!!!! Better with a few beers, and a side of onion rings…just writing this is making me hungry…okay so normally I am having a couple at the bar, eating and having a few cigarettes outside (yeah they banned smoking in my local bar too). Now it works for me, since I stopped, but until I stopped I was having to get up and go outside for a drag and it was pissing me off. Now with an e-cig they are letting me bend the rules…since it is vapor. But I actually, had some will power and got a smaller number of wings as takeout for the kids and brought them home to share and laid off of the junk and beer (since I was bad on Friday). Got to vape at home and watch some great football, shanked field goal attempts are always so painful to watch, yet great drama. My e-cig was my little oasis in my sea of change thank you honey…I have to admit that vaping has been a blessing and really helped me change other bad habits at the same time. More to come…Peace!
