A GREAT Father’s Day Gift Idea for Smoking Dads!

As many of you know I started this Blog to track my progress on quitting smoking cigarettes and educate others on e-cigarettes at the same time. I had been a loooong time smoker and was hooked, but then my wife gave me an e-cig starter kit for Christmas and I made the switch. Since then I have cut my nicotine level down from 24mg to 16mg and am getting ready to make the change down to 11mg. So progressively I will end my nicotine cravings and end up a 0mg, but that is still a little down the road and I do like the feeling of my e-cig as sort of a stress reliever even if I don’t need as much nicotine. Anyway, I already asked my wife to get me the step down cartomizers to 11mg for Father’s day. It’s only been about 6 months, but I really am seeing a ton of progress. I have been able to reduce my nicotine cravings, my cough is virtually gone, and I definitely feel better when I run or jog; and I do run and jog, which I could not do previously without coughing and hacking afterwards. So life with e-cigs is good definitely and it continues to get better. So if you do care about that special dad or husband in your life who smokes, then consider giving him an electronic cigarette starter kit…they really work! PEACE!

E-cigarette info for people thinking about making the switch

Found this editorial piece online, thought if you were looking to make the switch that it would be beneficial to have more valuable info about e-cigarettes. PEACE!

Benefits of Electronic Cigarettes.

E-Cigarettes seem to be catching on in the United States. Nonetheless, the FDA is trying to ban the sale of any flavored smokeless cigarettes, in an attempt to curb the attractiveness of their product to children. Many states are using the lack of support by the FDA to start stopping the sale of the electronic cigarettes. I really think that they are doing people a disfavor. There can be hundreds of thousands benefits to the ecigarette. The e-cig looks, feels, and works very similar to a regular tobacco cigarette in that it produces nicotine, the tip lights up when smoked, and the person must exhale a vapor substance. Through out this article I will be exploring the advantages of the ecigarette and why they may be the better alternative to tobacco smoking.

How is an Ecigarette different than a Tobacco Cigarette?

1. An ecigarette does not generate poisonous smoke. The consumer exhales water vapor instead of chemicals. This makes the e-cig more ecologically-friendly and okay in most restaurants, pubs, airplanes, etc. because the water vapor does not affect the health of those people directly in contact with it.
2. The ecigarette itself is intended to be reusable. Reduces landfill waste, roadside garbage, and cleans up the street. No cigarette butts strewn across your neighbors lawn or in the parking lot of your favorite diner.
3. The ecigarette uses an atomizer to deliver the nicotine rather than direct inhalation. The capsule of fluid must travel through the atomizer to allow for the nicotine to be delivered to the user.
4. Reduced amounts of tar in the lungs. Smokeless ecigarettes can greatly reduce the amount of tar and other damaging chemicals.

How does it work?

There are quite a few separate pieces that go into making an ecigarette. The initial section is the led light at the end of the cigarette that lights up each time the person takes a drag. This helps show to the person that they are in fact drawing nicotine from the cigarette.

Then there is the long barrel part of the cigarette which is now available in a variety of colors and designs. This would normally be where all of the tobacco in a standard cigarette is stored. This piece of the e-cig is used primarily for aesthetics and serves the purpose of making the cigarette easier to grasp. At the end of this white portion of the cigarette is the battery and “brains” of the electronic cigarette.

A battery and computer chip that controls the discharge of the nicotine and water in the container. The battery has a considerable life but like anything else, the battery should be changed out for a new battery quite often for avid smokers. A pressure sensor in the device tells the atomizer to discharge the water and nicotine when the consumer puffs, drawing in air over the sensor.

A heated coil is used within the atomizer to create water vapor from the nicotine cartridge person. The person inhales the vapor and result is water vapor.

Of course like most cigarettes the mouthpiece piece of the e-cigarette is piece that the consumer sucks on the electronic cigarette to create the reaction in the atomizer. Unlike regular tobacco cigarettes, the ecig requires more of a sucking action because of the pressure sensor, so it is a little different.

What are the advantages of using an ecigarette?

1. Smokeless cigarettes cost much less than regular cigarettes and can save the individual a lot of money. depending on how often the consumer smokes some estimates are in the 1000′s of dollars per year.
2. E-Cigarettes do not expose others to destructive chemicals. The bi-product of the electronic cigarette is water vapor.
3. No awful odor or smell. No longer need to smell like smoke or clean your clothes multiple times to get the smoke out of them. For those people that smoke at home, no more smoke filled rooms and annoying your spouse.
4. They come in multiple flavors so the individual can smoke his/her desired taste.
5. Smoking bans in dining establishments, pubs, clubs, airports, etc. Smokeless cigarettes are permissible to use in any public environment.

Makes of E-Cigarettes

The web marketplace for e-cigarettes has developed in the recent past and there are a huge number e-cigarette websites. The cost ranges from around $40 to roughly $150 depending on the brand name and packages.

What are the nicotine levels?

Smokeless cigarettes delivery roughly the exact same amount of nicotine for each hit as a regular cigarette but the container inside of the ecigarette has a substantial amount more nicotine than a ordinary cigarette. The rough estimates are that an ecigarette container is about the equivalent of 6-7 regular cigarette and can last for about one hundred drags as opposed to about 15 drags on a regular cigarette.

Are electric cigarettes better for you?

Here is some additional information I found to let you make your mind up.
Smokeless cigarettes have about twenty components compared to the almost four thousand ingredients in regular cigarettes including ammonia, carbon monoxide, tar, rat poison, hydrogen cyanide, embalming fluid, and acetone to name a few.

Six months of FREE e-cig cartomizers contest…NICE!

Okay, I’ve been totally not talking about this, but I should have been. Anyway when there’s free stuff involved I’m all in and don’t mind spreading the word. So if you go to the Bloog LLC facebook page:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bloog-LLC/131406843607135

There’s a photo contest where you can win 6 months of FREE cartomizers just by liking them and sending in your most creative photo showing the Bloog brand. Pretty simple, but you have to get your friends to vote for you. Most votes wins! Pretty simple and pretty much no strings, plus the baseball cap looks pretty cool too. Anyway, I don’t spout off too much about this kind of stuff, but 6 months of Free E-Cig Cartos is a good deal (frankly 6 months of FREE anything is pretty good…insert your sarcastic comeback to this comment here)! Have fun, good luck (just don’t beat me) and PEACE!

Adult Softball League the Perfect Place To Bloog

When I returned from Vegas I realized that my church softball team had a game that evening. I do try to stay active and still love to play softball as a replacement to baseball. So this is a pretty easy high pitch church league, supposed to be very relaxed, but sometimes people forget it’s a church league and get a little intense on the field. So last year I had to go off and smoke a butt behind some bushes between innings because it’s a family atmosphere and sometimes the moms get annoyed with my smoke around their kids. They used to give me so much grief about it, so I had to take it out on the other team and smack their pitchers around a bit…good motivator and ultimately the team wins…but still I hated it. So since I started vaping with my Bloog e-cigarettes I’m just puffing vapor and don’t have to hide anywhere. So this is our first game, about the 3rd inning and I start puffing and a mom walks up to me and asks me to stop smoking, because she sees the vapor so my response is I’m not smoking I’m vaping, see the LED light (no matches, no ash, nothing) and the smoke is not smoke it’s vapor. So no second hand smoke. And she’s trying to save face and argue with me and I’m getting a bit annoyed at this point. So (and please forgive me for this, because it is a bit rude of me) I just take a big drag and blow it in her general direction to show her it’s NOT smoke. And she’s like, “Oh it really isn’t smoke…um, uh, it just looked like smoke from a distance.” And I go. “It’s supposed to look like smoke, but I’m really trying to step down my nicotine intake and live a healthier lifestyle…really, so can you cut me a break on this…PLEASE?”  So by this time my blood pressure’s up and I’m on deck. Gotta get a couple of swings in to loosen up. So I put my Bloog in my pocket (nice…can’t do that with a cigarette) and get loose. Guy in front of me gets a single and sets me up with runners on first and third two outs…love this situation and I’m a lefty…so the whole field shifts to right thinking I’m a pull hitter…so this pitcher lays up a sweet pitch I wait on it and smash it to left field (no one’s even there because of their stupid lefty shift) and I end up with a 2 RBI triple easy. So as soon as I hit third I look over at the mom on the bench pull out my Bloog take a puff, give her a wink and put it back in my pocket…ahhh thank goodness for the little pleasures in life. Thanks to my wife and Bloog for saving the day! PEACE!

Vaping very accepted in restaurants in Las Vegas

Traveling once again, this time it is Vegas, and the more I get around with my Bloog the more I enjoy it. First, the looks from people when they see the glowing blue tip of my e-cig. Then when I go into restaurants and the hostess goes you can’t smoke in here and I show her that it is not a cigarette and they go, oh that’s okay you can vape, just not smoke. LOL what a treat! Then the staff of the restaurants. If you haven’t worked in a restaurant you would not know how many kitchen and wait staff members typically smoke in a regular restaurant, its about 75% plus typically. So that is a lot of smokers who are on their feet for a lot of hours and who look forward to that cigarette break. So when the waitress sees a person vaping in their restaurant they immediately ask what is that? How does it work? Can I try it? Then they are amazed by the amount of vapor it produces. Then other staff members start to check out the Bloog and are like where can I get that. Man I need a drag. Too long between breaks…and on and on! It is simply amazing how many smokers are missing out on something that they don’t need a break to vape. You can vape anytime…I wouldn’t do it over someone’s food, but seriously it’s great to be able to get that nicotine and then put your Bloog e-cigarette in your pocket and move on to the work at hand. Plus no real work downtime, just a puff here and there and you don’t have to go outside and stop working altogether. So yes vaping is alive and well in sin city and especially in restaurants! PEACE!

How an E-Cigarette Car Charger Works

Bloog E-Cigarette Car Adapter and USB Charber

Charging My Bloog and My Backups!

As many of you know I am on the road a lot seeing clients and networking. I always talk about charging my Bloog E-cigarette, but I rarely show how easy it is. Well finally got off my rear end and took a pic with my phone. Basically, its a car adapter that is readily available on bloogplanet.com plus the usb charger inserted into the adapter (like I said REALLY EASY) and then you thread your Bloog e-cig battery in an your charging while you drive. As you can see I keep a healthy supply of additional batteries on hand. I use them and I share them with friends to try to get them to quit smoking. Gotta continue to thank my wife for making me take the leap. But she really did a great job selecting a great product that lasts. Love vaping in the car. No residual smell and I am actually cutting down my nicotine level along the way. Just thought I’d share this with all of you so you can see how easy it is. PEACE!

Vaping While Tailgating….NICE!

Had a bit of fun this weekend at the Sixers vs Orlando Magic Game! Not that it was a good game, because it wasn’t, but I had a lot of fun before and after with my buds, our beer pong table and my Bloog. In my smoking days I used to have a butt in my mouth and try to concentrate on making my buds slam down some suds…and putting my cigarette down just wasn’t an option on a sloppy table, so I was always dropping ash everywhere. Now with my e-cigarette, I was able to take a drag on my Bloog and then put it in my shirt pocket, while I put my bro’s to shame. Didn’t burn my shirt, didn’t get my Bloog wet, and what’s best I didn’t accidentally drop ash into my beer on the table (that used to be a major VIOLATION). Now, no more VIOLATIONS of the Beer Pong code of ethics, I don’t offend my buddies or the ladies, and while I may smell a bit like a beer, I never smell like an ashtray anymore! Plus my designated driver…my lovely wife keeps me on the straight and narrow as a former smoker and now loyal vaper! Give vaping at your next tailgate a try and see if you don’t agree with me and my Bloog! PEACE!

Vaping on a photoshoot extremely handy!

Had an unusual Saturday, had to be on a photo shoot with one of my photographers, a cigar smoker, who happened to only be available on Saturdays the last two weeks. And when a client wants to use a particular photographer, I have to work when that photographer is available to meet the deadline. The photographer and I happen to get along extremely well, and used to enjoy a good cigar together after hours or better use cigar smoke to fake steam on the set when shooting food (an old trick that had it’s benefits when I smoked). So yesterday was extremely tough on me from an old habits standpoint. I not only was shooting with an old friend, but also had to abstain from our old pleasure. But, being a trooper, I soldiered on with my Bloog and we still had a great time working and rehashing old times. The best part, was that at the end of the day, he says to me, “How are those things anyway?” So I ask him if he’d like to give it a try. I had a cartomizer with some Red Juice in it and I have gotten into the habit of keeping some mouthpiece tips in my car and on me at all times. People always want to try my e-cigarette (because it looks like fun), but I don’t want everyone putting their mouth on my carto, so the mouthpieces really do come in handy. I never look like a jerk and at the same time I never have to get drool on my cartomizers…a WIN/WIN for me and my friends. So my photographer gives Blooging (vaping) a try and he actually says, “Hey, it’s not bad…how do I get one of these?” And of course the million dollar question, “How much are they?” So I tell him where to go and what the starter kit costs. And he was really receptive to them, plus I told him he could write them off as a business expense, since he could use the vapor to create steam over plates of food when he is shooting food for ads and packaging. And he got an evil grin when I said that….so I know his gears were turning. Anyway, hoping the next time I go back to his studio, we are vaping together. PEACE!

Networking and Blooging

Not sure if I ever mentioned this, but I am a member of a weekly networking group that provides some nice business for my employer. Well one of my fellow long time members is an unapologetic smoker. I think the world of this guy, since we do a lot of business together, but it is difficult for me to be around him anymore, since I am still working resisting my cigarette cravings. My Bloog e-cigarette helps a ton, so when I am around him I just vape, and he smirks at me typically. But yesterday, we were outside after our meeting and he goes how much are those things. So I explained the start up costs, but that e-cigarettes if used correctly actually save me a lot of money. An I always keep an extra supply of the Bloog sanitary mouth piece tips with me just in case a friend wants to try them. And what do you know he finally tried mine! Thought I had achieved a victory over him and had finally got him to break down and try vaping as a result of my positive influence. But he took the wind out of my sails by telling me his wife really wanted him to quit smoking and had been bugging him for weeks. The good thing was that she told him to be more like me and try vaping over smoking, so I guess my vaping influenced her to put her foot down. Net, net of this story was he tried vaping finally and I am hoping to flip him permanently…will keep tabs on him and let you all know how it goes! PEACE!

Thank GOD for BLOOG literally!

If you’ve been following this blog, you know I’m involved in a number of activities, and one of them happens to be a committee at my church…this one deals with staff and human resource issues. So to be proactive as a church I stepped in and volunteered to bring in a Human Resource consultant friend of mine, thinking this would be a slam dunk…well almost 3 years later and a lot of drama I, along with a few other committee members presented this manual to the church staff. Talk about stressful! And of course right after Christmas I quit smoking…so as I finished each stress filled meeting with people VERY RESISTANT TO CHANGE (and particularly oblivious to the law) I followed it with a Bloog instead of a cigarette. If I had tried to quit cold turkey…it would have been a dismal failure anger, cold-sweats, and finally caving in to temptation…with Bloog it has been far easier to stop smoking tobacco cigarettes and I have finally stepped down to a 16 mg nicotine level from 24mg…so it is a step in the right direction toward ZERO. Still love my e-cigs! I get the feel of a cigarette, I don’t piss people off with the smell or second hand smoke, and I am gently stepping down my dependence without missing a beat! So literally, thank God for Bloog for helping me get through some uncharted waters personally and spiritually at church! PEACE!
